Online Boid Simulator

Welcome to our interactive boid simulation! In this interactive experience, you will be able to observe and control the behavior of a flock of boids, also known as "bird-oids" or "bird-like entities."

Boids are computer-generated birds that exhibit emergent behavior based on a set of simple rules. These rules are used to simulate the collective behavior of birds, such as flocking, schooling, and swarming.

In our simulation, you can use the control panel at the bottom of the screen to adjust the parameters of the boids' behavior. You can change the weight of the various rules that govern the boids' movements, such as separation, and cohesion. You can also add new boids to the flock as desired.

As you play with the simulation, you will see the boids respond to your changes in real-time. Watch as they flock, school, and swarm based on the rules you have set. You can even try introducing obstacles or predators to see how the boids adapt to their surroundings.

So have fun exploring the world of boids and seeing how they behave in different scenarios!

Instructions:

  1. Adjust Flocking Behaviors:
    • Use the sliders to modify cohesion, alignment, and separation behaviors.
    • Experiment with different values to observe the impact on boid flock dynamics.
  2. Add Hunter Boids:
    • Click on the "Add Hunter" button to introduce hunter boids to the simulation.
    • Observe how these aggressive entities interact with the flock and influence their behavior.
